Is it reasonable to suggest faith-“Faith” is inescapable. We must believe in ....something, presence -in and with mystery? Detrimental behavior is inherent in misguided, slovenly conceived glorification. As manifested in alcoholism, sexism, hero worship, gun fetishes, capitalism unchecked, misogyny, racial exceptionalism, etc.
I think the notion that ritual can be useful—even if we don't know what that use is—is compatible with the idea that we don't understand everything that's worth understanding, i.e., faith.
